Holiday Concert Information

This letter was sent home with the students.  There is a signed portion that needs to be returned no later than Friday, November 11 to receive full points:

Dear West Ridge Choir Parents and Students,

Our annual West Ridge Middle School Fall Concert will be held Tuesday, November 15th at 7:00 PM in the West Monroe High School Auditorium. All Choir members will be performing in this concert and this is a required part of their choir grade. This performance will count as 75 percent of their overall grade for the third six weeks. All Choir students are expected to fulfill their responsibility as stated in the August Choir contract signed by each parent and student. In addition, this information has been posted on Messenger to our home page and our choir page since August. Because of the importance of this performance, students will not be excused for being “out of town,” at a sporting event, or any other conflicts. Because we only have two required performances for the entire year, all students are expected to be at this required performance.

Expected Concert attire

6th grade girls/7th and 8th grade intermediate girls (1st, 6th Periods): Need to wear a very nice dress or blouse/skirt combination. Absolutely NO PANT, NO JEANS, NO JEAN SKIRTS, and NO FLIP FLOPS. Dresses: No spaghetti straps, no strapless, no backless; all dresses or blouses MUST have a sleeve of some kind. Please be conservative in your choice of clothing and make sure you adhere to our school rules and the rules listed above. Points will be deducted for inappropriate clothing choices. (Roll check time will be at 6:20 PM in the auditorium. The students need to be in their assigned seats with their name on it.)

6th grade boys(4th Period): Need to wear a long sleeve dress shirt (any color), a tie, dress pants (any color), belt, dress shoes or similar kind of shoes. NO JEANS, NO TENNIS SHOES and NO FLIP FLOPS. Points will be deducted for inappropriate clothing choices. (Roll check time will be at 6:20 PM in the auditorium. The students need to be in their assigned seats with their name on it.)

6:00 pm report time- Advanced boys and girls (2nd, 5th Periods): **Formal Uniforms (specific information will be given to you in an email from Mrs. Givens). We will try to take a GROUP photo in the auditorium, so being ON TIME IS REQUIRED AND MOST IMPORTANT!!! (Roll check for advanced will be at 6:00 PM SHARP in the auditorium. We will try and practice with the accompanist and instrumentalist. So everyone MUST be on time. The photo will be taken directly after.) ** Ladies Jewelry will be sent home MONDAY, NOV. 14th and Boys’ ties will be brought to the concert with Mrs. Givens.

A teacher will be assigned to assist Mrs. Givens with Roll Check for each class listed above. Please note the TIME OF ROLL CHECK for each class!! This extremely important and will be a crucial part of their overall concert grade. Please be EARLY, NOT LATE for this most important event!

The performance will last approximately 55 minutes in total length and will be held in West Monroe High School auditorium. There is NO CHARGE for this event.
