IReady Reading Instruction Beginning April 14th

I am excited to share that our school is implementing a Reading program called i-Ready. Families and students may already be familiar with IReady for math instruction. Students will use the same login information to access their reading and math assignments. Below, you will find information about the program and how we will be using it in the classroom.

Weekly assignment sheets and activities are posted in Google Classroom.  Starting April 14 Students will have 3 lessons a week assigned in i-ready online. These activities and assignments are for practice and will not be graded; however, it is strongly encouraged that they complete them to keep up with all of their ELA skills.  The following are some of the activities that are posted weekly:

    i-ready ELA lessons/quizzes
    Common Lit assignments
    Google Classroom Activities

What is i-Ready?

i-Ready is an online program that will help us determine your child’s strengths and areas for growth, personalize their learning, and monitor their progress. i-Ready allows us to meet your child where they are and provides us with data to inform instruction.

To support your child’s learning in Online Instruction, you can:

Discuss your child’s progress on their i-Ready Reading lessons.

Celebrate your child’s learning and growth.

Encourage them to use i-Ready.

Thank you for your continued support and for being a partner in your child’s learning! If you have any questions about i-Ready, please do not hesitate to contact me through my email, acyarbrough@opsb.net, or learn more about i-Ready by visiting the i-ReadyCentral.com/FamilyCenter.

If your student needs their password or they have trouble accessing I-Ready, please reach out with an email and I will see what I can do. But their email and password for I-Ready should be saved in their drive

I-Ready Assignments

May 11th, 2020

  1. Find All of our I-Ready assignments in your I-Ready home page this week if you have not yet started, but you still would like a few points of bonus by this Friday

These assignments are not graded, but I will be checking in on students, answering questions in emails or in google classroom, if there are a lot of questions about one specific question. Even though these are not graded, I do encourage you all to try them out if you are able to.

Each week, I will share a piece of the data - the numbers I see from my Teacher I-Ready account (the time spent on assignments, the number completed successfully, the number of questions you asked me per assignment) and you can see how your class is doing compared to the other classes!
