The KEYBOARDING class is designed to teach proper technique and increase student efficiency when typing on the computer. The students will build their skills from home row, use correct finger strikes, maintain proper positioning, and increase accuracy and speed. 

 

KEYBOARDING APPLICATION students will develop and enhance touch skills for entering alphabetic, numeric, and symbol information on a keyboard. Students will compose and produce personal, educational, and professional documents. Students will gain a basic knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and graphics applications. Students will learn to use software packages and local and worldwide network communications systems.

TIPS & TRICKS TO BE SUCCESSFUL
IN MRS. MAY’S KEYBOARDING CLASS yes
1. Chair and feet belong flat on the floor.  Do not roll around, spin or play upsy downsy in chairs!
2. Wait for instructions before beginning assignments.
3. Do not touch another student’s keyboard or any other computer equipment.
4. Do not bang on keyboards or other computer attachments. 
5. Respect the computers hardware and software.
6. Do not change wallpaper, screensavers, icons, font, color, etc.
7. Do not download or save anything without my permission.
8. Follow the correct boot up/boot down procedures daily.

​9. Remember good posture and finger placement.  Don’t type like a T-Rex!

10.Set goals for yourself and work to beat it!  Do  not spend time worrying about how fast someone else can type, you will get there :-)
